Chapel + Emarosa + Sum 41 + Pierce the Veil | Freedom Hall, Lancaster County Convention Center

My good friend (and my daughter's drum instructor!) is currently touring with Emarosa as their drummer.  Last week, we caught their show at Freedom Hall (at the Lancaster County Convention Center).  Emarosa was one of the opening bands for Pierce the Veil, during their "We Will Detonate" Tour.  The other bands were Chapel, and Sum 41.  Brent was kind enough to score me a photo pass, so I hung out in the pit and created some art while enjoying the show.  I'm definitely in my element when I am photographing concerts.  I really enjoy being able to combine my loves of music and photography, and to capture other artists sharing their passions with others!  Something about the lights, shadows, colors, and emotions on display during concerts just fills my soul to the brim.

Here are a few of my shots from last Tuesday.  I hope you enjoy them!  Thanks again, Brent!!

Thievery Corporation + The Reminders | The Fillmore, Philadelphia

Photographing a Thievery Corporation concert has been on my Bucket List for a while now... and this year I was finally able to cross it off - not once, not twice, but three times (and in three different states)!  This was an amazing year to cross this off, too, because it is was their 20th anniversary tour!  I can't believe I have been a fan of their music for 20 years already.  It seems like just yesterday that I listened to them for the first time when I rented minidiscs containing their songs while living in Japan.

Back in May, I photographed them at Red Rocks, my all time favorite concert venue.  In August, I photographed them in Maryland at the Hot August Music Festival.  And, this December, I photographed them at the Fillmore in Philadelphia.

Here are a few of my favorite photos from their December show.  I also photographed their opening band, The Reminders.  The Reminders were incredible - they were so full of energy and positivity!  I'm definitely a new fan, and highly recommend that you check them out!  And, if you haven't heard of Thievery Corporation yet, you definitely need to check out their work as well.  They put on one of the best live shows I have ever seen - every show is a different experience and is performed with unmatched passion, energy, and style.

Thank you for the opportunities, Thievery!  And, thank you for providing many of the songs to the soundtrack of my life over the past 20 years.  I'm looking forward to many more shows to come. :)

Vans Warped Tour | Scranton, PA | July 11, 2016

I never imagined that my Starbucks chai tea addiction would lead to such incredible opportunities!  A few years ago, I met Brent while ordering my typical "venti no water chai".  He quickly became one of my favorite Baristas!  We found out we had a lot of common interests, including tattoos, music, snowboarding, and caffeine!  I also quickly found out that Brent happens to be a pretty incredible drummer, and asked him if he was willing to take on my middle daughter as a drum student.  He agreed, and he's quickly become an extended member of my family!

Brent started touring with Emarosa this year when they found themselves in need of a drummer.  A few months ago, Brent helped me get a photo pass to shoot Emarosa at the Chameleon Club.  Last week, Brent came through for me again and hooked me up with a photo pass for Warped Tour when they were in town (well, as close to being "in town" as they were going to get).  The rest of the family also got all-access passes, and it was a pretty incredible experience for all of us!  I want to provide my daughters with experiences that they will remember for the rest of their lives, and I think this one definitely qualified!

Here are a few of the MANY photos that I took at Warped Tour that day.  Everything took place in Scranton, around the Pavilion at Montage Mountain.  Brent, thank you again for the opportunity to shoot this event!!  It's been an honor being able to follow along as you chase your own dreams.
