Dylan and Tyler | Muhlenberg Class of 2018 | Bear Creek High School Senior Session

Dylan and Tyler are seniors at Muhlenberg High School who happen to love winter as much as I do.  When their dad reached out to me a few months ago and asked me if I'd be up for photographing his twin sons' high school senior session at Bear Creek sometime this winter, I immediately accepted!  I obviously love photography, and if you know me then you know how much I love snowboarding as well.  When I'm able to combine both of these passions, I really am in my element!

Little did I know that Mother Nature would attempt to foil our plans multiple times over the next few months.  On the weekends that the weather actually cooperated this winter, I was out of town cheering for my daughters at their own snowboard races.  Thankfully, the temperatures cooled off recently and the local resorts were able to stay open a bit longer - and all of the puzzle pieces finally came together this past weekend.

We met up at Bear Creek Mountain Resort on Sunday morning, just in time to catch the first lifts up the mountain and beat the crowds.  Being that it was a Sunday morning, and the morning after St. Patty's Day, I think a number of snow lovers decided to sleep in a bit.  We practically had the mountain to ourselves for the first few runs!  I was stunned at how much snow coverage was left this late in the season.  It turned out to be the perfect morning for this photoshoot.

Thanks for hanging out with me on Sunday, Tyler and Dylan!  And, thanks to your dad, Shawn, for making some turns with us and keeping us laughing!  I hope the rest of your senior year goes well and that you make a few more great memories before you start the next chapter of your lives.  Congratulations to you and the rest of the members of the Class of 2018!

Here are a few photos from our time on the hill together!  (The groundhog also made an appearance that day, and I thanked him for extending winter by a few weeks for us...)

The Mauro Family | Historic Shady Lane | Central Pennsylvania Children and Family Photographer

If you live on the east coast, you may have noticed that the temperatures have been a bit on the colder side lately.  I thought I would add some warmth to your hearts by sharing this fun session from November!  Now that holiday cards have all been sent out, it's safe for me to start sharing some of my end-of-year photoshoots that I've been keeping under wraps.

Thank you, Mauro Family, for driving out to Historic Shady Lane for your family photoshoot this fall!  I love the images we made together, and I hope you walked away with some amazing memories as well.  Whenever I photograph this family, I find that my mouth is sore at the end of the session from smiling and laughing so much during our time together.

This was such an incredible venue, and I definitely plan to go back for future sessions!  If you're ever in York, you have to check out this gorgeous gem!

A First Holy Communion Session - for Twins! | Wyomissing, PA Children's Photographer

A few weeks ago, I had the honor of capturing photos for the Mauro Family, to celebrate their twin daughters' upcoming first Holy Communion.  These young ladies were so much fun to photograph!!  They were so happy, so cooperative, so full of energy, and so adorable!!  As we were getting ready to begin our photoshoot, I found out that it was their birthday, too!  I'm honored that they took time out of their celebration to come hang out with me and my camera!!

I love how these photos turned out, and I have been so eager to share these!  (I promised their mom that I would wait until the day of their first Holy Communion to share them on my website.)  I hope that their smiles, hugs, and dance moves put a smile on your face as well.

Congratulations, Mauro Family!!!

Saint Peter's Village Family Session | The Gumbas - Part 1

Last year, I had the pleasure of photographing the Gumba family for the first time, at their amazing property.  That session is still one of my favorite sessions to date, because we ended up abandoning all plans for posed shots and took more of a candid, lifestyle approach.  I love letting kids just be themselves - I find that's when they (and their parents) truly shine!

This year, our session took place the same day as a fishing trip that Dad was really looking forward to, so we decided to focus on Sarah and her three boys.  We opted to go with a different location this time, to mix up the backgrounds from last year.  Due to the nature of the location, and the tendency of 3- and 6-year olds to want to explore, we had to be a little less "lifestyle" and a little more hands-on, but we still captured some amazing photos of the boys being themselves!  Even though they are exploring their independence at this age, it is so obvious how much they love their momma.  It was also obvious when they decided they were finished having their photos taken!  See if you can figure it out in the images below. ;)

This family has forever earned a big space in my heart!  I love them for their energy, their sense of humor, and the fact that they are just so real!  They are unapologetically authentic, and I think we need more people like that in the world.

Thank you, Sarah!  Thank you for allowing me to take your family photos, and thank you for being you.  You are such a breath of fresh air.  Your kiddos rock, too.  Here are a few of my favorites from the session.
